March 30, 2006 7:48 PM | Samsung | T-Mobile | Comments (0)

Samsung e635 Phone Description
With the stylish Samsung e635 you get a high-resolution camera with 4x digital zoom and a large, bright color display in a sleek, sliding form factor. Add that to instant messaging capabilities, a speakerphone and support for wireless internet connectivity, and you've got a great mobile companion.

Design
As mentioned, the e635 features a unique slider design that reveals the phone's dial pad only when you need it. On the front of the device you'll find a large and vibrant 128 x 160 color display with 65,000 colors. An internal antenna design means there's nothing to snag or break off. Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's control pad, while handy side keys control call volume and other functions. There's also a standard jack to accept universal hands-free headsets. The e635's VGA (640 x 480) camera unit is housed in the back of the device. An LED flash and "vanity" mirror are also provided here.

Calling Features
The e635's built-in address book can store up to 1000 contacts for quick and easy management of phone numbers and email addresses. The phone comes with built-in polyphonic ringtones plus a vibrating alert. A built-in ringtone composer allows you to craft your own ringtones, as well. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear. Plus, picture and ringer ID functionality lets you assign photos and ringtones to specific callers. Like other T-Mobile phones, the e635 supports voicemail, caller ID, conference calling, call forwarding, call waiting, call hold, built-in paging, and access to 411 services.

Messaging, Internet, and Tools
If you need a robust messaging device, the e635 deserves a serious look. The phone supports sending and receiving text, pictures and sound via the Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS). The phone also comes pre-loaded with clients for the Yahoo! and AIM instant messaging services (note that T-Mobile text and instant messaging charges apply).

Getting on the Internet is easy with the e635, as well. It supports the GPRS data protocol for speedy data access. A built-in web browser makes it easy to purchase t-zones downloads and surf the wireless Web. T-Mobile's t-zones service lets you receive and send emails, read news headlines, get weather updates, download games and ringtones and more. T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.

The e635 ships with a number of handy tools including an alarm, a calendar application, a to-do list, a voice memo function, and a calculator.

Imaging and Entertainment

The fun really starts with the e635's built-in camera. In addition to an LED flash and 4x digital zoom, it features a self-timer, multi-shot functions, brightness controls and a night mode for better shots in low-light situations. And don't forget that the e635 is a powerful gaming companion with support for Java-based games. Two games, SnowBallFight and BubbleSmile ship with the phone and more are downloadable from the t-zones service.
