Samsung today unveiled three revolutionary phones for the U.S. market at the annual CTIA Wireless 2006 trade show, showcasing the RIM Blackberry Connect in a slim folder design (T719), high-speed HSDPA capabilities (ZX20) and WiFi/UMA connectivity (T709), giving consumers unprecedented options for mobile productivity and entertainment.

Samsung T719 - RIM Blackberry Connect

The Samsung T719 is expected to hit the U.S. market as the first phone incorporating RIM Blackberry Connect Email in a compact, slim folder design. With its SureType keyboard, convenient thumbpad and speakerphone, the EDGE-enabled, quad-band T719 boasts a 2.12-inch, 262K-color TFT screen that provides an ideal view for emails, file downloads and video capture/playback.

The T719 also delivers mobile entertainment capabilities, including a 1.3-megapixel camera, camcorder and media player. At only 3.5 ounces, the T719 remains a lightweight, hands-free device with Bluetooth wireless technology support, speakerphone and advanced voice recognition solutions.

Samsung ZX20 - HSDPA High-Speed Capability

The ZX20 is expected to be the first HSDPA phone in the U.S., representing Samsung's charge to lead the industry with its high-speed capable phones. Having launched Europe's first HSDPA phone, Samsung's latest innovation in the U.S. allows for quick downloads of ringtones, games and Web browsing, and the high-speed service means smooth feeds for streaming video content.

For additional productivity - using the ZX20's speakerphone or Bluetooth headset - downloading content, surfing the Web, sending instant messages and emailing are all completely accessible while on a live call. The phone's silver and black-lined clamshell design features a 1.3-megapixel camera with flash as well as Bluetooth wireless technology support, which complements the speakerphone for easy voice communications.

Samsung T709 - WiFi/UMA Connectivity

As one of the first phones in the U.S. to feature Wi-Fi and Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) technologies, Samsung's T709 will deliver comprehensive coverage allowing for mid-call switching between broadband and cellular networks. The T709 allows calls to channel from Wi-Fi access points, through the Internet, and onto a cellular network, giving consumers seamless connectivity while traveling between the home, office or on the road.

The T709's network capabilities and advanced multimedia features are captured in a compact black slider design weighing only 3.3 ounces. The tiny EDGE-enabled device packs a range of features, including a 1.3-megapixel camera, an MP3 player, a video player, dual stereo speakers, speakerphone and an enhanced 262K-color TFT screen, bringing rich, vibrant sound and image qualities to pictures, music, video clips and ringtones.

Samsung will unveil other products for the U.S. market as well, including the A930 and D407. The external face of the sleek A930 houses multimedia function buttons, allowing users to easily maneuver video and music downloads without opening the device. Stereo speakers also are positioned on the exterior of the handset, while an internal antenna maintains the phone's sleekness. The phone's integrated camera and flash records pictures and video clips which are easily stored on a removable microSD memory module.

The sleek and stylish D407 instantly connects users with the push-to-talk feature at the touch of a button. Bluetooth wireless technology, integrated speakerphone and advance voice recognition allow for further hands-free flexibility, and the quad-band technology keeps users connected anywhere in the world. The D407 also incorporates a camera with 4x zoom and multiple messaging options, such as IM, Chat and SMS.
