Canadian 2nd Largest Carrier Tries to Sell Sex to Subscribers

February 23, 2007 9:39 PM | Interesting | Comments (0)

Well we all know it's coming.  Sooner or later a cell phone carrier will try to push pornography onto cell phones.  Why you ask?  Because there is big money in pornography!

According to industry analysts Jupiter Research, adult content on mobile devices will be worth $3.3 billion by 2011, up from $1.4 billion this year.

Most people don't realize that the biggest pedler of pornography are the cable and satellite companies such as Comcast, Direct TV, AT&T, Dish Network, etc.  You get the message.

Well last month Telus, Canada's second-largest cell phone operator, tried to quietly sell pornography to cell phone subscribers.

However, it back fired after the New York Times ran a story about the new service. Religious groups and Telus subscribers were very upset.   However, I'm sure Canadian cable and satellite operators sell pornography.

Cisco vs. Apple Over iPhone Name

February 18, 2007 7:11 PM | Apple | Comments (0)

What's been going on with Apple's new iPhone, you ask? A lot I tell you. After much rumor and anticipation, Apple finally launched the iPhone. However, a few weeks before Apple announced the iPhone we found out that the name was already taken by Cisco Systems, however Apple still announced the iPhone. Didn't Apple do their homework to first determine if there was a trademark for the iPhone name?

According to recent reports, Apple has 1 more week to respond to Cisco Systems Inc.'s trademark infringement lawsuit that threatens to keep Apple from using the iPhone name. The companies had previously agreed to extend the deadline until Thursday night, however, Cisco Systems said Apple has until Wednesday (2/28/07) to respond to the lawsuit filed last month in San Francisco federal court.

Cisco, whose Linksys division began shipping a line of iPhones last spring, has said it would allow Apple to use the trademarked name but wants both companies' phones to be able to communicate with each other.
