Nokia Patents Cell Phone With Position, Velocity & Direction Sensors

Nokia was recently granted a patent for a cell phone using orientation sensors to determine what orientation (held upside, on its side or right side up) a phone is in to automatically change the phone labels (keypads and screen information) (read patent). Additionally, the patent states that the phone will have embedded chips to sense velocity and direction when the phone is being moved. The patented features are similar to the popular controller for Nintendo's best-selling Wii videogame device. | |
