Cell Phone Video Projector is Coming Soon

April 1, 2007 9:11 PM | Technology | Comments (1)

Texas Instruments recently demonstrated at the 2007 CTIA Wireless convention a prototype of a DLP pico-projector small enough to fit on your finger tips which can be used by cellular phones, digital cameras and portable media players.  Imagine that, your cell phone can be used as a projector. (View Video about DLP).

The DLP pico-projectors will either be standalone projectors or integrated into mobile devices and will provide consumers and business professionals with the flexibility to share video and graphic content in a larger way.

TI are calls the projector a "pico" projector to emphasize its tininess. The projector can show DVD-quality images onto any surface, turning the barest of walls into a videoscreen.

And even though the projector is just 1.5 inches long, it can generate a particle beam wide enough to approximate a widescreen TV presentation.

TI demonstrated the viewing experience advantage of showing mobile phone content on a pocket projector in January 2007. The introduction of the pico-projector capabilities will provide manufacturers and end-users even more options on how they can view and share information and content.

Greetings, My name is David Freemon and I just wanted to commend you on your website. I find it very informative. I was involved in online gaming some years back and then switched my focus to wireless wagering. I was wondering if I could ask you for a favor using your expertise. I am picking up an upgrade on my cingular phone and would like to get/purchase the best video camera that they have available, as at the current time I am finishing up a grant video proposal and while I would like to order from overseas I/we must make do with what we have now. I would tremendously appreciate any input you can give me towards picking a phone that has overall the best video capabilities (zoom, editing, megapixels, etc.) I look forward to meeting you, as if you are not busy perhaps one day we can talk about some online ventures. My partner company is in Dublin, www.alatto.com Best regards, David A. Freemon
