Yesterday we reported that Apple and AT&T are being sued by Jose Trujillo, an iPhone owner, over the fee consumers must pay to replace the iPhone battery. Replacing the iPhone battery isn’t easy and to maintain the warranty you have to send it back to Apple at a cost of $79 to replace the battery plus another $6.95 for shipping. You may want to try to change the battery yourself. SHOP.BRANDO.COM.HK is selling an iPhone Replacement Battery Kit for US$20 which includes a rechargeable battery, assembly tools, and instructions on how to replace the battery. Apple has stated that the battery replacement process requires solder (using heat to join metal parts) so it's not understood how the kit would work. Of course if you take the risk and dismantle your iPhone you will void your warrantee. So be careful. | ![]() |
