| Now cell phone users can use several new VoIP websites to bypass one of your cell company’s biggest moneymakers; international cell phone calling charges. Services like Pingo (pingo.com), Rebtel (rebtel.com), Cordia (magnumbers.com), Globe Dialer (globedialer.com) and JaJah (jajah.com) let users access the Internet and overseas calls with cell phones charging 2 to 25 cents per minute plus any plan minutes used (from you cell phone carrier). Rates vary by country, however, rates can save up to 90% over your cell phone carrier international plan. These international services use a combination of toll free land-line numbers, text signals, call-backs, software downloads, and call forwarding to get around having access to telephone networks. For example, Rebtel assigns your international contacts and you different local telephone numbers to reroute cell calls over the Internet. Cordia has your overseas contacts use a toll free number to call you; which forwards the calls to your cell phone. |  |
Pingo uses toll free and local access number with its prepaid calling cards. Globe Dialer requires software downloads to your cell phone. JaJah works by going online to enter your phone number and your calling number. They then call you to connect you to the international phone number your requested.
