PayPal Launches it's Mobile Checkout

| Today PayPal announced the launch of Mobile Checkout, a service allowing consumers in the U.S., U.K. and Canada to buy items securely using the mobile web. To use PayPal Mobile Checkout, a consumer can visit a merchant's website and purchase items by clicking on the PayPal button - all from the convenience of their mobile device. PayPal Mobile Checkout offers a simple way to accept payments for merchants with online storefronts. With PayPal Mobile Checkout, merchants can sell items such as DVDs, CDs, clothing, tickets, electronics, video games, books, athletic equipment, and even specialty items from catalogs such as SkyMall, directly through the Mobile web. In April 2006, PayPal introduced its first mobile payment service, allowing consumers to buy, donate or send money using a text message-based service from their mobile devices. The addition of Mobile Checkout to the current PayPal Mobile offerings gives users the option to purchase items via the mobile web.
