There is an open source project called "Apache Mobile Filter", this module detects mobile browser and gives its capabilities as environment variable. Most of these mobile site creation tools make pretty ordinary mobile websites. If they look really good then they would give you a link to a demo site. I've been using a mobile website publisher called Mostyle (http://web.mostyle.mobi/) that makes really nice mobile websites that works on any phone. I've got some pictures and screen-shots on my Flickr page that you can see. http://www.flickr.com/photos/39606494@N00/ If you like these sites you can create your own for free at http://web.mostyle.mobi/ Also, you'll notice that on different mobile phones your mobile site will also look good. Not like those small tiny mobile sites on a large mobile screen. Mostyle mobile sites scales up and down. Very cool!
