JetBlue to Offer Free Inflight Wi-Fi

December 7, 2007 11:42 AM | Services | Comments (0)

JetBlue, Yahoo Inc and Research in Motion will start offering free, in-flight, Wi-Fi web connections for laptop computers and advanced cell phones on Tuesday December 11.  The service for now will only be available on one of its A320 plane equipped with an onboard wireless network.

The free service will allow JetBlue's passengers to access customized Yahoo mail and Yahoo instant messenger services on their laptops or to access corporate e-mails on Wi-Fi enabled versions of the popular Blackberry device from Rim.

The low-fare carrier has been working for months with partners Yahoo Inc. and Research In Motion Ltd. on the service.

JetBlue Airways is a major American low-cost airline owned by JetBlue Airways Corporation. The company is headquartered in the Forest Hills near Queens in New York City. Its home airport is John F. Kennedy International Airport. JetBlue is a non-union airline.
