Online Charity Auction – This year, Alltel Wireless is giving fans an opportunity to score racing memorabilia while contributing to a worthy cause. Participants can support the Ryan Newman Foundation through an online auction at www.alltelracing.com. Auction items will include a variety of Ryan Newman memorabilia, such as autographed helmets, No. 12 Alltel Dodge panels and other cool Alltel Racing gear. The mission of the Ryan Newman Foundation is to educate and encourage people to spray/neuter their pets and to adopt dogs and cats from animal shelters; to educate children and adults about the importance of conservation so the beauty of the great outdoors can be appreciated for future generations; and to provide college scholarship funding through the Rich Vogler Scholarship program to students interested in auto racing careers.
DIRTcar Nationals - Further enhancing Alltel’s commitment to racing and extending its motorsports sponsorship beyond the Cup Series, Alltel Wireless was recently announced as the first ever title sponsor of the 37th Annual DIRTcar Nationals. Alltel Wireless will help launch the 2008 racing season with 12 nights of racing from Feb. 5-16 at Volusia Speedway Park near Daytona Beach , Fla.
Show Car Tour – Alltel Wireless is giving fans a chance to get up close and personal with authentic replicas of the No. 12 Alltel Dodge as part of the company’s show car program. Four stockcars donning the team’s fresh 2008 paint scheme will make pit stops at Alltel retail stores and authorized agents. To help experience life in the pits, fans can grab an air gun and try their hands at changing tires.
