Mobintech Introduces Cell Phone Projector Glasss

February 18, 2008 8:19 AM | Cell Phone TV | Gadgets | Comments (3)

Mobintech, a Denmark-based group, has introduced the “PDG – Personal Display Glasses”; the first real digital interface solution directly for mobile phones. The limited screen size of current mobile phones diminishes the viewing experience and PDG believes they have solved this problem.

With the PDG you can watch TV shows and videos directly from your mobile phone on a pair of display glasses which displays a 30 inch flat screen in front of your eyes. Mobintech is a Scandinavian design house designing and developing Personal Display Glasses solutions based on micro display technology and low-power electronic designs.

Right now all the major cell phone carriers are pushing cell phone TV; however, the screen size is an issue.  The PDG maybe the solution to this problem and may entice cell phone users to sign up for cell phone TV services.

To Mobintech: We need HUDs - these HMDs are not anything new on the consumer market for a long time now. Ideally, some kind of a hybrid system that could work both as HUD and HMD as needed would be optimal for now. Also, 320x240-WTF??? What kind of resolution is that?! - It's not 1992 anymore! We are talking about 2000+ ppi microdisplay technologies today and you are offering us this?!
I just don't think anyone will wear these. They are too big, they look stupid, and someone will steal your phone and you won't even see them do it.
I've often wondered why projection are more popular especially with laptops. It's cool to see that someone is finally trying to bring it to market!
