Sprint today announced that it will become the first wireless carrier to offer live NFL game telecasts starting Nov. 6 when NFL Network televises the first game its eight-game schedule. Sprint will be the only wireless carrier to offer the NFL Network game telecasts via its exclusive NFL Mobile Live application and on Sprint TV, free of charge to Sprint data subscribers.
The first televised game features the Cleveland Browns hosting the Denver Broncos on NFL Network's Thursday Night Football broadcast. NFL Network's six subsequent Thursday night telecasts will be available to Sprint subscribers as well as the final NFL Network game on Saturday, Dec. 20.
NFL Mobile Live, only from Sprint, has been in high demand since launching on the Now Network on Sept. 4. When NFL Mobile Live launched at the start of the NFL season, fans made it the most-downloaded application for a weekend in the company's history, and it set the company's single-day record for downloads on Sept. 7 - the first Sunday of the NFL campaign.
Sprint is making it more affordable for customers to use its industry-leading GPS-enabled child locator service, Sprint Family Locator. Starting tomorrow, parents can now use Sprint Family Locator, including recent enhancements, for just $5 per month. A great tool for peace of mind during trick-or-treating, Sprint Family Locator allows parents to log in on any Web-enabled Sprint phone or a computer to use GPS to see their child's location on an interactive map, even when the child is using their phone to make a call or send a text.
During the past four months, Sprint Family Locator users made an average of more than 3 million location requests through the service, including more than 3.5 million in September alone. Wal-Mart has announced it will start selling the Google G1 phone at a discounted price starting today (Wednesday).
Wal-Mart will sell the G1 phone, with T-Mobile service, in 550 Wal-Mart stores at $ 148.88 for new customers, or existing customers eligible for an upgrade, who sign up for a two-year agreement.
T-Mobile will sell the smartphone for $179.99, so consumers will save $31.11 purchasing it at Wal-Mart. The T-Mobile G1 phone is the first cell phone powered by Google's Android, Google's new operating system.

Atlanta-based Cox Communications Inc. will announce Monday plans to launch its own cellular network next year. Cox has spent $550 million on airwaves licenses which signaled their desire to enter the market.
Cox's licenses cover the Atlanta area, New Orleans, San Diego, Omaha, Neb., and Las Vegas as well as much of Kansas and southern New Mexico covering about about 23 million people,.
Cox will partner with Sprint-Nextel for roaming outside those areas. Wireless phone service will add to Cox's video, phone and Internet services to head off competition from phone companies like AT&T Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc., which already have wireless service and are rolling out video.
