On Wednesday, April 1 at 9:00 a.m., CTIA President & CEO Steve Largent will host carrier CEOs Robert Dotson of T-Mobile USA and Ivan Seidenberg of Verizon Communications, along with Mike Lazaridis, president and co-CEO of Research In Motion. These industry executives will provide perspective and insight on key wireless trends.
On April 2 at 9:00 a.m., the keynote session will explore different uses of wireless technology with commentary from Robbie Bach, president, Entertainment & Devices Division of Microsoft; Ben Wolff, co-chairman of Clearwire; and wireless health expert and noted cardiologist Dr. Eric Topol, director of Scripps Translational Science Institute and chief academic officer of Scripps Health, who will discuss how wireless technology will change the future of medicine.
As part of CTIA’s tradition of marrying wireless technology and public service, the April 3, 9:30 a.m. keynote will feature former U.S. vice president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore. Since retiring from politics, Al Gore has been a tireless advocate for raising awareness on the dangers of global warming. He was the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize (together with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) in 2007. His documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, won an Academy Award in 2007. Vice President Gore will discuss the wireless industry’s role in helping to solve the problem energy usage and the broader impact of green business on the economy and the environment.
