MetroPCS Launches Unlimited Wireless Service in Grand Rapids - Michigan

May 6, 2009 11:04 AM | Services | Comments (1)

MetroPCS Communications, Inc., announced today the launch of its low-cost, flat-rate unlimited wireless services with no signed contract in Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Holland. MetroPCS currently offers service in Detroit, Flint, Lansing, Saginaw, Bay City, and Midland.

MetroPCS offers a diverse selection of service plans, which allow customers to talk 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week, and enhanced service options so that residents of Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Holland can create a wireless experience that best fits their lifestyles. With MetroPCS, customers pay by the month, not by the minute, and services do not require a signed contract, deposit or credit check. Service plans start as low as $30 per month, and unlimited long distance service to the 48 continental United States and Puerto Rico is available with service plans as low as $35 per month. The first month of service is included with the purchase of a phone and there is no activation fee or hidden charges.

Upon launch of service, MetroPCS will have one corporate-owned store and 50 authorized dealer locations throughout the Grand Rapids area. MetroPCS’ entry into the market will create more than 58 jobs in the area.

Consumers can visit any of MetroPCS’ current authorized dealer locations or visit MetroPCS’ web site at www.metropcs.com to sign up for service plans, choose from a lineup of wireless phones from the top handset manufacturers, including the Samsung Finesse, and receive a complete list of locations where expanded coverage is offered.

You know of course that these "rebate" cards have expiration dates and if you don't use them up by that date any money left on them goes back to AT&T? Millions of customers, a few dollars here and there, it adds up to profit for them which is why they stopped doing rebate checks. I complained to the state attorney general who forwarded my complaint to the BBB. Within a few days of them getting the complaint I had a call from ATT&T, offering to take the balances on my expired cards and apply them to my bill. It wasn't much but it's MY money, not AT&T's. Lesson learned and we won't do a "rebate" with them again....
