Dell Planning to Launch Smartphone in China

There have been rumors that Dell is working on a smartphone with touch screen like the Apple iPhone and the Google Android powered handsets.
However, according to recent published reports, Dell is working with Taiwan-based Foxconn to manufacture a smartphone to be sold by China Unicom (a Chinese mobile service provider).

Dell's first phone will be introduced in China because European and American mobile operators declined to back the phone.

China has the largest mobile phone market with over 600 million subscribers and will provide a great testing environment to determine if a Dell smartphone will be accepted by the market.
