Review Video of the Jupiter Jack - Cell Phone Hands Free Device

October 17, 2009 9:39 PM | Gadgets | Comments (3)

Have you seen the infomercial with the late Billy Mays promoting the Jupiter Jack and wondered if it really works?  Well apparently it works well as evident in the review video to the right by Star Reviews.

The Jupiter Jack is a device for your cell phones that allows you to make and receive hand free calls. You plug the device in our cell phone headset port, mount the phone to your dashboard and set your car radio to FM 99.3.  Jupiter Jack then transmits a high quality sound through your car speakers allowing you to hear your caller.  There are no plugs or wires to deal with and it works with any phone in any car.

Jupiter Jack allows you to drive safely because you don't have to hold the cell phone while you drive.  In some states it’s illegal to drive while you holding your cell phone.  Currently, you can get 2 Jupiter Jacks for $20 at www.freejupiterjack.com.

In conclusion with the Jupiter Jack; it's not completely hands-free. You still need to hold the phone in your hand to make the initial outgoing call. Also he didn't mention that if you have an incoming call, it doesn't warn you. For instance, if you don't want to talk to that specific person, or that call isn't important enough to distract you from driving, you can't prevent the call from coming in unless the device is off.
I think that the Jupiter Jack is a great device. I think they missed the calling with this device. It works great with your cell phone, but I use it more for my mp3 player. Ipod + Jupiter Jack = Success
This was not a great review. Review ALSO share the negative aspects to products as well as the possitive. He failed to mention what a pain in the butt the adapters are. Did you see in the video how when using the adapters the main devise just hung off the side of the phone??? Why didn't they have an adapter that merely plugged into the smaller jack without the extra 2-3 inches of wiring? This is not only going to llok tacky but will be flopping around during use. Also, you will need to go and purchase a unit that holds your phone. Also, the ad mentions you should tune your radio to 99.3 which a more clear channel then 88.7 as the reviewer mentioned.
