Saygus has announced plans for the launch of the world’s first two-way live video conferencing PCDA (named V1) in the fourth Quarter of this year powered by Android. The V1 will be sold by Verizon Wireless and will be its first Open Development Initiative handset. The world’s first PCDA or "Personal Communication Data Assistant", is an acronym designed to imply the Smartphone and PDA’s overdue transition from a non-video capability, high power usage, data recieving, audio calling, scheduling and personal contact depository device, to the market’s only full-scale "ultimate convergence device" | ![]() |
The product will offer the most advanced streaming live video available today, allowing for business executives, engineers, site inspectors, construction workers, military and medical personnel, to communicate face to face from different geographies across the globe in a mobile wireless network.
The commercial applications are staggering. Functions such as video archiving for records and high end business to business (B2B) as well as business to consumer (B2C) capabilities create the possibility for swift and simple market penetration. The Saygus device's combination of video calling technology and mobile Internet merged with medical office and/or hospital software products may revolutionize the healthcare industry across the globe.
The V1 will offer 'remote save' capability allowing the user to save any information entered or video saved to a storage server for recall should video be needed or the V1 be broken, lost or stolen. No more lost data! In addition, the device allows for Blackberry type communications with its own Qwerty keyboard. It will have the ability to receive movie downloads in beautiful full color HD format. A miniature surround sound type 3D audio is also a standard for movie viewing and MP 3 listening.
The V1 was recently approved the FCC and will be available late this year or early 2010 via Verizon Wireless.
