Qualcomm Incorporated today announced that it is the first chipset company that will support, with its integrated chipset solutions and system software, commercial launches of phones based on Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Phone 7 Series. The Company is working with Microsoft and multiple device manufacturers on smartphones powered by its Snapdragon platforms and running Windows Phone 7 Series software, currently scheduled to begin launching in time for the 2010 holiday season. Snapdragon chipsets integrate high-performance, custom CPUs with 3G and powerful multimedia capabilities in a single chip.
