| Real estate Web site Zillow.com today announces an update to the free Zillow iPhone App, with new features that allow users to easily share Zillow's rich data on over 93 million U.S. homes using social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, home shoppers can now search and find homes for rent along with homes for sale, recently-sold homes and Make Me Move listings. (See video above). |
- Social Media Sharing: Users can now share Zillow's home data, Zestimate values and photos on more than 93 million homes via Facebook and Twitter, whether or not the homes are for sale, in addition to being able to email properties of interest to a friend or real estate agent.
- Search Homes for Rent: Home shoppers can now find both rental homes and homes for sale, whether using the app's on-the-go GPS feature or scoping out neighborhoods from afar. According to a recent survey by Harris Interactive(1), 25 percent of people who plan to move in the next three years say they will simultaneously shop for both homes for sale and homes for rent. Unique to Zillow, home shoppers can set search filters by home price or monthly payment, and simultaneously find both for sale and for rent homes within a price range they can afford.
- Sign and Sync with Zillow.com: Sign in and sync favorite homes between iPhone and Zillow.com accounts, streamlining the user search experience.
"The response to the Zillow iPhone App has been incredible, with more than two million homes viewed on the app every month. People are clearly using the app to satisfy their desire for real estate information exactly when and where they need it most – on location while searching for homes and neighborhoods," said Spencer Rascoff, Zillow chief operating officer. "Now we're improving their mobile experience by providing even more shopping tools and home listings, and giving users ways to share what they find instantly with family, friends, real estate agents and social networks."
The Zillow iPhone App uses GPS technology to find and follow users as they move through neighborhoods, and displays Zestimate values, homes for sale, homes for rent, recently sold homes, and Make Me Move listings on the homes around them. Search capabilities in the new version of the Zillow iPhone App also work on iPod touch.
The Zillow iPhone App is free to download from Apple's App Store or at www.itunes.com/appstore/. Search for "zillow" in the App store, or find it in the Lifestyle category.
Zillow.com is one of the largest U.S. real estate Web sites. A record-breaking 9 million unique users visited Zillow in January 2010.
