The agreement with Skyrove, the largest independent Wi-Fi hotspot operator in South Africa, provides Boingo customers with expanded coverage across the country. The Skyrove network includes Wi-Fi Internet access at popular hotels, restaurants and coffee shops in the region. |
“The addition of Skyrove to our growing Wi-Fi network will allow customers to quickly and easily connect to all major commercial hotspots throughout South Africa,” said Bjorn Thorngren, director of business development in EMEA for Boingo Wireless. “With the desire to stay connected when traveling internationally on the rise, reliable wireless access is important for heavy data users looking to escape excessive roaming charges.”
“Boingo is a global leader in Wi-Fi services, and we look forward to making our fast and efficient network available to their customers,” said Henk Kleynhans for Skyrove. “In particular, Boingo understands the importance of mobile Internet, and through our partnership we are able to bring Wi-Fi to Boingo users visiting South Africa, whether they’re on smartphones or laptops.”
Boingo offers a variety of wireless plans for customers living and traveling in South Africa, including Boingo Europe Plus, which provides unlimited Wi-Fi within the region for one low monthly fee. Skyrove is an important addition to Boingo’s existing roaming agreements with the two other leading Wi-Fi operators in South Africa. With this new agreement, Boingo hotspots will be widely available throughout the country.
