BenQ-Siemens Announces Three New Handsets

August 7, 2006 8:00 PM | BenQ |

BenQ-Siemens has announced three new handsets. Each of these new models sets new trends in design and technology. The SL91 for example is one of the smallest UMTS devices on the market. A single touch magically opens this luxury slider through the innovative Force Sensitive Resistor (FSR) technology.

The E81 is a small UMTS-capable phone that combines business tools with entertaining multimedia features. This tiny giant brings exciting 3G functions such as video-telephony to a format that fits into any pocket. Finally, the E71 introduces a spectacular design innovation: its Teflon coating not only gives this stylish phone an unexpected look, it also doesn’t allow fingerprints to spoil the looks of the phone.

The BenQ-Siemens SL91 features a 2" 16M color TFT display with a QVGA (240x320) resolution along with a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus with a maximum picture resolution of 2048x1536 pixels, a microSD memory card slot, tri-band GSM/GPRS/UMTS support with video calls, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, stereo FM radio with RDS and a MP3 player.

Free Cell Phone Short Movie Series

August 7, 2006 7:40 PM | BenQ | Cell Phone TV |

BenQ-Siemens has several movie clips created for mobile phones. MicroMovie Series is a sequence of a few 60-sec short movies shot at locations around the world by directors from all over the planet.

This very funny and highly entertaining new format brings a comic theme to your phone. Of course the cinematography takes the special requirements for mobile phone displays into consideration (no fast camera motions, no wide angle shots).

BenQ-Siemens Announces the M81

June 15, 2006 9:57 AM | BenQ | Siemens |

BenQ-Siemens announced a new addition to the Siemens M-series phones famous for their enhanced shock, dust and splash protection - the new device would be called Benq-Siemens M81. Equipped with scratch resistant 262K TFT display and 1.3 megapixel camera with a LED flash, the phone is a representative of the middle class devices but is targeted at the young people.

The display has a rather inadequate resolution of 132x176 pixels which is far less than the standard QVGA resolution of 240x320 pixels. A good thing is that the LED flash serves the double purpose of a flashlight which should help you find your way around in the middle of the night. An appealing feature for the active youngsters is the microSD card slot which is there to provide plenty of memory space for the integrated music player. The phone is even equipped with stereo headset.

As regards connectivity the phone supports tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 and EDGE along with an advanced version of Bluetooth supporting the A2DP profile which practically means that it supports a stereo Bluetooth headset.
